Amryn Dover began going to Oakstone Academy in 2nd grade. During Amryn’s time at Oakstone she was a jack of trades participating in volleyball, basketball, ultimate frisbee, oakapella, theater, and peer tutoring. Creating some of her favorite memories as an Oakstone tiger! When asked about her favorite moments as Tiger she responded “My favorite memory is when Oakappella got to make an album and play on the varsity volleyball team”. Amryn Dover is a well known face around the oakstone community and often contacts her old teachers and peers to catch up and chat. After graduating in 2017 Amryn went on to attend Bluffton university majoring in childhood development with a minor in recreation management. While attending Bluffton, Amryn continued to show her versatility by being on student senate for two years and becoming president her third year. By doing so she became the first African American in 100+ years of Bluffton University’s history to do so. Amyrn was also a part of Multicultural and was a delegate in the organization for 2 years. Multicultural is an organization that is dedicated to bringing people from different backgrounds into one space to converse and share different ideas from their own. And to top it all off she performed as J. Denny Beaver, the Bluffton University mascot during her sophomore year! When asked what Amyrn took from her time at Oakstone she had this to say “One thing I took from Oakstone is understanding the importance of inclusion. My time at Oakstone is what inspired my dream of opening my own daycare to help and support children with disabilities”. Amryn Dover is a great example of the potential that an oakstone graduate yields and the greatness they are able to achieve! To Amryn we would like to say thank you for making the Oakstone family proud and we know she will continue to do so for years to come!
