The Fine Arts at Oakstone are offered for all levels of students from the most advanced to timid beginners. We work a lot on self expression and how to think “outside the box”. The students are exposed to a plethora of materials and will learn a lot about the process of implementing them in effective ways. Some of the Art classes we offer, but are not limited to, are Figure drawing, Printmaking, Sculpture, Mixed Media, Illustration, Digital mixed media, Pen & Ink, Perspective drawing and Painting. We are lucky to have an Administration that is so supportive of the Arts. They understand that many of our students are visual learners and that these classes will help develop certain skills that are important in so many aspects of our lives. We teach patience and problem solving, control and planning, creativity and expression. We make connections between what they are learning and discuss how many jobs have art roots such as; Fashion design, Automotive design, architecture, video game and character design, illustration, advertising, etc. Basically, we want to provide our students with the tools they need to succeed in the real world once they graduate.
