Our Community: Digital Arts
At Oakstone looking forward is important. New technology is combined with classic theory and taught by professionals in high expectation classrooms. Digital arts are both a creative and technical skill and both aspects are highlighted across all courses. Students are able to learn and flex illustration skills, layout and typography, animation, digital design and robotics, photography and filmmaking, and digital music creation.
Our teacher ratios and abilities allow students to be challenged and supported. Our rooms boast the latest in Apple and Windows computers and Promethean Smart-Boards that turn our lectures into immersive experiences. Students not only learn the skills and theory behind our many digital artforms but gain vocational experience through labs, field trips, internships, and independent studies.
Digital Photography classes 1 and 2 are an integral part of a student’s experience at Oakstone as it is integrated into other courses and extracurriculars, including Yearbook, Graphic Design, and Mixed Media. Photography classes provide students with the necessary tools to produce interesting compositions and professional imagery.
Video Production class gives students the opportunity to film and edit footage with professional grade equipment and editing software.
